BLACK LOTUS YOGA

Boulder, Colorado

October 27-31, 2025

Black Lotus Yoga is a new form of vinyasa yoga designed to be practiced in the Mysore style. With six smooth and adaptable sequences, the system gives you a brilliant structure in which to explore. In Black Lotus Yoga, you are encouraged to explore, by playing with the postures, blending the variations, and rediscovering the internal forms. The idea is to make a ritual of listening to the body, of moving the body around the breath, and of holding space for the creative sap to overflow. This is the evolution of modern yoga—a potent, playful and forgiving practice that gives tradition new life.

Since many Boulder students are acquainted with Black Lotus Yoga, this workshop will go beyond formal introductions. After reviewing the structure of the system, and reminding ourselves of how it may be used, we look at the energetic patterns behind the sequencing, to understand how they encourage the breath to move, and we contemplate the spiritual significance of those movements through the symbolic images of Hatha Yoga. Finally, we explore the internal forms of breath, bandha and mudra to awakens these images on the breathing body.

There are no requisites to join this intensive, but an open heart and mind. Beyond that, all who want to learn are welcome. The entire system is new, and you are invited to share in the excitement.
